After breakfast we travel over the Franschhoek pass en route to Hermanus. It is here, in this coastal town with its rich history, one can holiday all year round. One of the first regular visitors to Hermanus was Sir William Hoy, who ensured that the natural beauty of Hermanus would stay unspoilt by blocking any attempt to extend the Bot River railway line to the village. Hermanus is a year round delight: sun and beaches in summer and from June to November whales frolicking in the bay just metres from the shore. Wonderful golf course, walks, shopping etc. on offer in this beautiful town.
Dinner at a restaurant at the harbour and overnight at Lavender Manor - BB
We follow the N2 and at Swellendam we will visit a berry farm, taste liqueur and have lunch. This old, historical town lies in the shadows of the clock peaks of the Langeberg Range. Swellendam, together with Tulbach, is the third oldest town. Cape Town being the first and Stellenbosch the second.
After being refreshed, we once again, follow the N2 to Mossel Bay, past Mossgas.
