Carpets of wild flowers in spring, seafood and the great outdoors. That's the West Coast. It's a cultural
experience mixed with magnificent views and offers visitors natural beauty and activities in all four
seasons.
The road takes us through:
Milnerton, Melkbosstrand, Grotto Bay and onto Yzerfontein with its long, outstretched beaches, surf and
sunshine.
Darling - where we find West Coast culture, wine and fynbos appreciation. We go back in time at the West
Coast Fossil Park and visit Evita's theatre (home of the most famous white woman in Africa).
Saldanah Bay - The hub of the fishing industry.
Paternoster with its sea and birdlife, arts and crafts and typical West Coast hospitality in open-air
restaurants.
Langebaan - The jewel of the West Coast. We will pay a visit to the Boesmanland Farm Kitchen which is on
the rocks, on the beach.
St Helena Bay - One of only three natural bays on the mainland coastlines of the world. The Pelican
Pottery Studio is one of the attractions on our list.
Day 2
We leave Club Mykonos and drive to Velddrif and onto Hopefield which is situated in the heart of fynbos
country.
Time will be spent in the Riebeeck Valley. We visit an olive farm, the Riebeeck cellars, art galleries
and craft shops. The people here are a hospitable mix of potters, artists and farmers.
This day spent inland is not to be missed.
